EMV payments are currently supported through Stripe for International customers. This will allow you to take credit card payments through a chip reader for both party and POS orders.
NOTE: Stripe EMV is only supported in the 2.0 POS. It will not function correctly in the classic version.
Ordering Hardware
Processing with Stripe EMV will require that you order one or more chip readers from Stripe directly.
To order hardware, login to your Stripe portal. Click on the search bar and search for hardware orders:
Click on the shop button to place an order:
We currently support the BBPOS WisePOS E chip reader, which you should see listed as an option for purchase:
NOTE: The WisePOS E is the only chip reader we have tested for use with Stripe in Party Center Software
Creating a Location Within Your Stripe Portal
Before your chip reader may be configured in your facility, you must create a location within your Stripe portal. To begin, login to your portal and search for terminal:
You should see the option to create a new location in the top right:
Add your facilities location information and click Done when you are through:
Once your location has been created, you may register a chip reader.
Registering a Chip Reader
If you have just created a location, it should already be open in your Stripe portal.
Click Register reader to proceed:
If you are returning and need to find your location in your Stripe portal, type terminal into the search bar and select the following option:
Click on the name of your location:
You may now click Register reader to proceed:
You will have the option to assign a name to the chip reader you are registering:
Once your WisePOS E chip reader has been powered on and connected to a network, you should see an activation code consisting of three words separated by dashes on the screen:
Enter this same code into the Stripe portal and click Done to register your chip reader with the location you have created:
Assigning a Chip Reader to a Hardware Link Profile
One your chip reader has been registered in your Stripe portal and support has configured your EMV account in your Party Center Software facility, you may assign a chip reader to a Hardware Link profile in your facility.
If Hardware Link has not been installed and configured, please use this article to get started.
To begin, login to your PCS facility and navigate to Admin > Hardware Settings:
If everything has been configured correctly, you should see the name of the Hardware Link profile you are using as well as a message saying that you are using the current version.
Note: Please update to the latest version of Hardware Link if you have not.
Click on edit next to your profile name to proceed:
Click on the Payment Modules dropdown under the Payment Acceptance section:
You should see the option to select Stripe EMV:
Click Select next to the name of the WisePOS E chip reader you would like to use with this Hardware Link profile:
The selected chip reader should display under Associated Card Readers:
Click Save Changes to finalize.
Once you have completed associating a Stripe WisePOS E chip reader with a Hardware Link profile, all payments sent to a chip reader from that profile will appear on the chip reader you have selected in Hardware Settings:
